Review Process
The International Journal for Research in Internal Medicine (IJRIM) follows a rigorous, impartial, and systematic peer-review process to evaluate submitted manuscripts and maintain the scientific quality and integrity of published research in internal medicine.
The journal follows a Double-Blind Peer Review model in which the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation process. The review process is designed to assess the originality, scientific validity, methodological quality, clinical relevance, and academic contribution of submitted manuscripts.
| Double-Blind Peer Review Model | At Least Two Independent Reviewers | Editor-in-Chief Final Editorial Decision |

Initial Submission Screening |
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Handling Editor.
During this stage, the manuscript is evaluated for:
- Relevance to the journal's Aims and Scope.
- Compliance with the journal's Author Guidelines.
- Originality and academic significance.
- Clarity of research objectives and presentation.
- Appropriateness of the research methodology.
- Similarity screening and publication ethics compliance.
- Relevant ethical considerations and research documentation.
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements, academic standards, or scope may be rejected at the initial screening stage without proceeding to external peer review.

Double-Blind Peer Review |
IJRIM follows a Double-Blind Peer Review model to promote fairness, objectivity, and impartiality in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
Under this system, the identities of authors are concealed from reviewers, and the identities of reviewers are concealed from authors throughout the review process.
To maintain anonymity, authors are required to submit their manuscripts without names, institutional affiliations, acknowledgements, or other identifying information in the main manuscript file. Author details should be provided separately through the journal's submission system or in a separate title page.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are assigned to at least two independent reviewers selected by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned Handling Editor. Reviewers are chosen based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and relevant subject-area expertise.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts independently and provide constructive, evidence-based comments and recommendations. The evaluation focuses on the scientific quality, originality, methodology, interpretation of findings, and relevance of the research to internal medicine.

Reviewer Evaluation and Recommendations |
Reviewers assess submitted manuscripts using relevant scientific and academic criteria, including:
| ✓ Originality and contribution to existing knowledge in internal medicine. | ✓ Relevance to the journal's scope. |
| ✓ Clarity of research objectives and study design. | ✓ Appropriateness and reliability of research methodology. |
| ✓ Accuracy and interpretation of results. | ✓ Scientific validity of the discussion and conclusions. |
| ✓ Adequacy and relevance of supporting references. | ✓ Ethical considerations and research integrity. |
| ✓ Overall scientific and clinical significance. | |
Following evaluation, reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:
| Accept
The manuscript is suitable for publication without substantive revision. |
Minor Revision
Limited corrections or clarifications are required. |
| Major Revision
Substantial changes or additional explanations are necessary before further consideration. |
Reject
The manuscript does not meet the journal's academic, scientific, or publication requirements. |
All recommendations should be supported by relevant comments and explanations to assist the editorial evaluation process.
The reviewers' recommendations are advisory, and the final editorial decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
|
04
|
Revision and Re-evaluation |
When revisions are requested, authors are expected to address the reviewers' comments and editorial observations carefully.
Authors should submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed. Where a recommendation has not been incorporated, an appropriate scientific justification should be provided.
| 01 | Authors revise the manuscript and prepare a point-by-point response. |
| 02 | Revised submission is assessed by reviewers or the editorial team. |
| 03 | Editorial team evaluates whether concerns have been adequately addressed. |
Depending on the nature and extent of the requested revisions, the revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation or assessed by the editorial team.
The editorial team evaluates the revised submission to determine whether the concerns raised during the review process have been adequately addressed.
|

|
Final Editorial Decision |
Following the completion of the review and revision process, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding the manuscript.
The decision is based on:
- Reviewers' reports and recommendations.
- Scientific quality and originality of the manuscript.
- Adequacy of the authors' responses to reviewer comments.
- Relevance to the journal's Aims and Scope.
- Compliance with the journal's ethical and editorial requirements.
The possible final outcomes include acceptance, further revision, or rejection.
All editorial decisions are communicated to the corresponding author through the journal's official communication channels.

| 03 | Preparation of publication proofs. |
| 04 | Author review and approval of proofs, where applicable. |
